In 1959, Ray Lucero, Sr. began his career as a carpet installer in New Mexico. Guided by his principles, his “Whatever It Takes” motto, and his unwavering commitment to quality, he opened his own flooring company in 1972. Working out of the garage of his North Valley home, he and his wife, Dorothy, began building a legacy of hard work and quality craftsmanship guided by integrity and honesty. Driven by an unrelenting passion to satisfy each and every client, the business began to grow.
Today, operating out of our 68,000 square foot facility on the Westside of Albuquerque, the Lucero Family carries on that legacy started all those years ago. Together with his sons, Ray Jr., Gerald, and Martin, and a dedicated team of employees, Ray Sr. continues to guide our company with the same principles of integrity and honesty, customer service and hard work, family and tradition.
Our never ending commitment to continued improvement led us to become the only flooring company in the state of New Mexico to have our quality process certified by the National Home Builders Association. The NHQ (National Housing Quality) program is a real time, quality program which greatly reduces deficiencies and promotes a high level of quality and customer service in every aspect of our business. As a qualified Minority Owned and Small Disadvantaged Business, we were honored in 2004 to be named the New Mexico Small Business of the Year. Most recently, we were awarded the 2008 PRISM Community Award for the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital.
Throughout our 37 year history, we’ve pledged continued support of our community. We are a strong supporter and contributor of many local charities including, Roadrunner Food Bank, The New Mexico Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics of New Mexico, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the University of New Mexico Lobo Club. Our most recent commitment is to being environmentally responsible through our wide assortment of “green products” and our participation in numerous recycling programs.
